The website, www.ugodeal.com, negotiates discounts with popular businesses such as restaurants, hotels, airlines, shops, activities of children and adults, spa treatments, bakeries and public handouts.
Launching the site at a press conference in Accra, Miss Yasmina Lahlou, Managing Director of Ugodeal, said the concept had proven its efficiency worldwide and brought revenue to local businesses.
She said it had saved subscribers time and money due to the special discounts it offered customers and the business public based on the principles of collective and group buying.
Miss Lahlou explained that people could subscribe freely and would be informed by email on every new deal which would last for a limited period.
If Ugodeal members or subscribers purchase goods or services on the company's website, they can make payments by bank transfers, cash deposits and MTN mobile money.
When the deal is over, a special voucher would be sent by email, which the customer has to print and present to the specific merchant in order to be offered the service with no further payment, she explained.
The Managing Director said management begun operation in Ghana on July 3, 2001 and within three months, increased from 50 to over 1,000 subscribers through registered users of our deal newsletter and 1,550 facebook fans. Only on the website we have an average of 200 daily visits so far.
She called on the public, especially students, businessmen and women and the general public to join Ugodeal both on the company's website and on facebook, in order to enjoy great unimaginable discounts on goods and services.
Mss Lahlou urged corporate and business oriented companies to enhance their patronage on Ugodeal for their goods and services.
