Mr John Frimpong, the Dean, said these would provide avenues to reach out to traders, artisans and other SMEs by way of consultancy services to help them adopt good business practices.

They are already in partnership with the SMEs as they occasionally organize seminars and workshops for them to promote information sharing and technology transfer to grow their businesses.

Mr Frimpong was speaking at a Meet-the-Press series of the University in Kumasi.

The programme forms part of activities marking the 60th Anniversary of the KNUST.

It is designed to highlight the achievements, challenges and prospects of the various departments to assist the public to appreciate their work and vision.

Mr Frimpong spoke of plans by the School to construct an ultra-modern lecture theatre and auditorium at a cost of about GH¢ 200,000.00 to facilitate academic work.

When completed the facility would accommodate about 300 students at a time.

Mr Frimpong said the school was also supporting eleven of its staff to pursue doctorate programmes.

Professor Sam Afranie, Provost of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, commended management of the KSB for its creativity and hard work.
