This, he said is affecting cost of production in the country.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Mr Boakye-Yiadom said the hike in the prices of petroleum products had negatively affected the business of the ACWA because cost of production had increased to an “unbearable state” and demoralising producers.

He said the Arts Centre well known for the exhibition of African artefacts is one of Ghana's most visited tourism sites but had not gain the prominence it was supposed to get.

Mr Boakye- Yiadom said the association in June last year organised a fair to revamp the centre but that was not beneficial because there had not been any significant increase in patronage of its services.

He appealed to the Ministry of Tourism to brand the country well, adding: “Ghana is known worldwide for Kente as Brazil is well noted for football.”

Mr Boakye-Yiadom asked the government to ensure that proper security measures are put in place at the borders to prevent individuals from importing inferior China made cloths into the country, which he said is killing the local textile industry.

He urged Ghanaians to be proud of made in Ghana products adding, “I wish all workers would wear Kente on Fridays... to portray the Africans that we are”.
