Government appeals to labour over fuel subsidies

Government has appealed to organized labour to exercise restraint as the latter threatens to hit the streets next week.

The Ghana Trades Union Congress which is leading the demonstration is unhappy about government's handling of their demand for the restoration of fuel subsidies following the recent increase in prices of petroleum products.

It will be holding district and regional meetings next week to start the nationwide protests.

Vice President John Mahama earlier held a series of meetings with the TUC to look into their demands.

His Spokesperson John Jinapor told Joy Business government would continue with negotiations to address the grievances of organized labour.
