Winneba, Dec. 8, GNA - The Police Administration has said it would not spare any personnel whose actions would bring the Service into disrepute.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Ofosu Mensah-Gyeabour, the Director General, Technical, said this at a passing out parade of 126 police personnel after six months training at the Central Region Police Training School in Winneba on Wednesday.
He said the Police Administration and Ghanaians expected a lot from them and that indiscipline and lawlessness would not be countenanced.
Mr Mensah-Gyeabour said they had passed out close to Christmas and New Year, a period characterized by increase in road accidents and crime and added that the police had an enormous task of providing a peaceful, serene and accident free environment for the festive season and after.
I therefore urged you to be fair and firm in the performance of your duties and exhibit high standards of professionalism at all times, he said.
He told the new personnel that they would be on probation for 18 months during which they would be monitored and at the end of the period those who would not make the mark would be discharged.
Mr Mensah-Gyeabour urged them to remain disciplined and appealed to citizens to assist the police to discharge their duties.
General Recruit Mangidu Naangbong emerged as the overall best recruit.
